Here\'s a presser foot for your vintage slant shank Singer which is hard to find and fun to have!According to Singer\'s 1950 textbook for teachers, Machine Sewing, this attachment \"is especially adapted to outlining with silk twist or wool yarn for art work.\" This foot is stamped with the part number 160754 and \"SIMANCO U.S.A.\" on the upper, inside part of the shank. Its size, 1/16, is stamped on the top of the lower, \"toe\" section. It fits all Singer slant shank, side-attaching models, including 401, 403, 500, 503, and many others, as well as the beloved Model 301, the \"big sister\" to the Featherweights, 221 and 222. According to my research, this foot was available in 2 sizes, 1/16 inch and 3/16 inch wide. I\'ve checked 5 different editions of Singer\'s textbook for home economics teachers, Machine Sewing, and all mention only these 2 sizes. A fellow er says his parts list mentions sizes 1/16 TO 3/16, which could include a 1/8 foot. The foot in this sale is the smallest size, size 1/16.This attachment is in GOOD TO VERY GOOD used condition, with a few marks of use and age, but no rust. The bottom is smooth and softly shining, rather than showing streaks of wear. The identification marks are sharp and clear, though tiny! It\'s ready to go right to work, and give many more years of use. In addition to the feet, the winning buyer will receive a copy of the partial page from Singer\'s book Machine Sewing which gives the basic instructions for beginning to put your \"new\" attachment to work right away. All these books picture the low shank version of this foot, but the principles are the same, of course.
