ANTIQUE REED & BARTON 1873 EASTLAKE VICTORIAN FIGURAL FOOTED FELINE SHIP TEA POT 10 ¼”
Tea Pots with huge “collars” flaring around the top first appeared about 1868, The one patented by George Gill, August 12 1873, for Reed & Barton has a finial that is a rampant lioness holding a shield on her chest, an embossed vessel on a plaque on top and Phoenician hieroglyphics enhanced the very Eastlake design shaped handle, as well of stick-Eastlake style floral plaques shapingits feet and enhancing spout andcollar below of it with a band floral motifs, an antique estate piece in an excellent condition, showing at the most some stubborn tarnish by its hinge, NO plate loss, NO monogram, NO structural damage or repair, stamped on the bottom MFD’ & PLATED BY REED & BARTON 2620- 5 DESIGN PAT.
