DESCRIPTION If you are a lover of interesting and unusual vintage and antique jewelry, you've come to the right place. I try to keep a nice mix of fine and costume pieces that range in age from 19th century Victorian to late 20th century vintage designer couture. My offering to start off the month of March is by far the best this year. There are several exceptional Victorian and Art Deco pieces mixed with some outstanding designer costume. Fresh from a fine Texas estate comes a most impressive vintage gold washed sterling silver and rhinestone double pin clip brooch designed by Alfred Philipe for Trifari circa mid to late 1940's. Philippe had worked for Cartier and Van Cleef and Arpels before coming to Trifari and his ability to create costume jewelry that mimicked fine jewelry is unmatched. The brooch has a wonderful retro style and is set with brilliant ruby red and crystal rhinestones. It measures approx 2" x 1 3/4" and is signed "TRIFARI" and "STERLING" on the underside(it weighs approx 21.9 grams). The condition is very fine with darkening to some of the crystal stones and some wear to the gold wash consistent with age.
