Russian Silver/enamel Tea Glass Holder Nikolay Alekseyev 88 Zolotnik Moscow 1900 For Sale
Up for sale is a beautiful antique Russian Silver 88 Zolotnik hand-enameled cloisonne tea glass holder by renown silversmith Nikolay Alekseyev, made in his Moscow workshop circa 1900.Rare and hard-to-find, this fabulous turn-of-the-century Russian Silver & Enamel zarf or tea cup holder features intricately hand-painted and shaded cloisonne floral motifs, swans and geometric designs. The bottom is fully hallmarked HA (cyrillic initials for Nikolay Alekseyev)along with the Russian Silver standard 88 Zolotnik (916.6/1000) and the Moscow Assayer’s marks for Ivan Andreyevich. This is a higher degree of purity (closer to that of Sterling than the more common 84 Russian Silver standard) indicating the importance of a piece. The dimensions are approximately 3 5/8" tall at the handle by 2 1/2" in diameter at the base, by 4 1/4" across the handle, and the weight is approximately 175 grams, over 5 1/2 Troy ounces. This stunning antique enameled flower Russian Silver tea glass holder is in very good vintage condition with light age-appropriate surface marks and wear. There is no longer any gilding or gold wash. There are no major dents or other damage, but there is some very minor loss to the enamel. There is a small flake chip to the enamel on the left side of the handle, and a very small ding with a few tiny marks at the rim, does not detract (please see all photos and email me if there are any questions).A superb addition for the sophisticated collector of antique enameled silver style and design from Nikolay Alekseev of Moscow, will be carefully boxed and shipped USPS Priority Mail with insurance and tracking information.I only accept PayPal, payment must be made within four days of sale closing.International buyers should email prior to offerding for a shipping quote and options.International Buyers – please note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges.
