Rabbit Bunny Easter Egg Candy Container Antique Glass Eyes Germany France Rare Description Description A WONDERFUL EARLY CANDY CONTAINER OF A CHARMING BUNNY RABBIT EMERGING FROM AN Easter EGG MADE OF PAPER MACHE WITH WONDERFUL ORIGINAL GLASS EYES WITH REMOVABLE HEAD! PROBABLY FRENCH OR GERMAN DATING TO C1890. A RARE FIND! This candy container is one of the very best! It is in the form of a charming bunny rabbit emerging from an Easter egg! It has its original glass eyes. It is paper mache. It has the most wonderful expression and form! The top opens to put the candy inside. I believe this is most probably French although it could be German. It dates to c1890. A very rare and wonderful piece for the discerning collector of Candy Containers, Rabbits, Bunnies, Holiday, Easter. Please see our other sales for more candy containers and toys from a wonderful collection. The bunny is in excellent period condition. There is really no apparent loss or damage to the paper mache. The paint is in superb condition! The bunny stands 4 inches (10 cm) tall to the top of its ears. It is 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) long.
