Radiator, Used, Fits 1943 World War Ii Wc62 Command Car, Pressure Tested, Repair:
Used radiator. This radiator came out of the truck that is pictured, which belonged to a friend of mine. He was storing the truck on my property. We removed the radiator so thieves would not help themselves to it. Two years later, he sent a tow truck to pick up the truck (see photo). The radiator was left behind. That was eight years ago, and the radiator has sat in my storage container ever since. The truck, I believe was a 1943 WC-62, but correct me if I am wrong, this radiator will fit the Command Cars from the early '40s and probably several other Dodge models from the same era. Pretty much impossible to find these today. Yesterday, I brought this radiator to Sid's Radiator Shop here in Lafayette. David pressure tested it to 18psi and he found a leak at the outlet on the bottom. He said the cast iron was cracked at that location, so he soldered it while I watched (see photo with red circle). He re-tested it to 18psi and the only leak remaining is in the drain valve, which needs to be replaced anyway. David tells me that he believes that this is the ORIGINAL CORE FROM CIRCA 1943. There is some rust on the sheet metal along the sides of the radiator. See photos. Let me know if you need additional photos. There is rust visible on the inside of the outlet and the inlet, but does not appear too serious. Purchase price will include shipping. Note: I will be shipping with Greyhound due to the heavy, bulky nature of this item. Make sure there is a Greyhound station near you that accepts "Greyhound Express" deliveries. You will have to drive to the station to pick it up when it arrives. Another option will be Fastenal. Will be shipped in a wooden crate to prevent damage. Ask all questions and request additional photos before you buy. Thank you.
