Rare - 1910's-1920's Sears, Roebuck "modern Plumbing" Catalogue:
This is a Sears, Roebuck Co "Modern Plumbing" Catalogue. These are very hard to come buy and seldom appear on this site - particularly this age. About the age, it is hard to tell. I suspect this may be as early as the pre WWI period and as late as 1925. the person I got it from claimed 1928 - which I doubt by the dress that the women are wearing in the catalogue. I did check a 1930 catalogue and the women were dressed in clothes with much less frill and had their hair bobbed. the women in this catalogue are dressed closer to the 1890's than the 1930's. My guess is Pre WWI. Of course, everything is negotiable and if someone feels this catalogue is later and wants it and can prove it and its value, they should contact me and we can discuss it; everything has its price. In so far as the contents: bath tubs, toilets, sinks, pipes, pumps powered by Economy engines (a plus for those who like hit and miss engines), windmills, tools, and tile. great catalogue to look at the history of some of these devices and the prices - Condition. I have recently had to refer to a comic book grading chart and comic books are judged quite harshly with a lot of variables. Any other dealer might list this as a simple very good without justifying how they arrived at that. If you want to see how I arrived at that, please read my condition statement and then look up comic book grading. By the way, this catalogue is tight and the pages are quite clean with no yellowing (if this were a comic book, it would really rate higher than VG because of this). It is a nice early example and if taken care of will be around for a long time - it is by no means falling a part. Questions welcome.
