Beautiful and early example of the Polish Hussar or Cavalry officer's Battle saber dating from as early as 1600s and up to the early 1700s ear, having arobust deeply curved single edged blade which exhibits extensive areas of fine scattered pitting and light patina throughout, bearing a struck maker's mark at the lower blade. Massive steel hilt mounts showing pitting and a leather over wood grip, possibly rewrapped in later era to sustain and prolong the military use of this impressive saber.
