Very unusual and seldom encountered type of swept hilt rapier which is likely to date from early 1600s era, mounted with an elaborate complex steel guard having distinctive crab-claw like finials and pommel, with a very fine pattern wired grip, all fully intact and solid, showing average patina and pitting to the steel.
