Large Persian Ceramic Bowl with Brass Rim with Purple, and Green Floral Decoration
Up for sale is a large Persian ceramic bowl with brass rim, and floral detail from Northern Iran. The shape is quite lovely, and is painted with green and purple, and outlined with black calligraphic strokes. This item does show a crack as shown and noted in the photographs below. Aside from the crack all other aspect of the bowl are well intact, and the colors are vibrant. This ‘Kubachi’ style pottery is believe to be copying the Chizou or Swatow Chinese style of the 16th century, this includes the copied Chinese character found on the bottom of the bowl.
