Rare 17th Century Islamic Silver Agate & Coral Handled Spoon Without Reserve For Sale
On offer is very rare Islamic spoon with a coral handle, silver mounts and a beautiful agate bowl. The bowl has been carved and polished out of a single piece of agate gemstone. This would have been a high status object when originally made during the 17th century. It has suffered over the years with a damaged bowl and section missing from the handle. If in perfect condition this spoon would be worth many thousands of pounds in Christies. As such it is an interesting spoon for a serious collector of Islamic art. These spoons seldom turn up for sale on !
