RARE 1875 J.E. Stevens Co Blackman Slave Shack Mechanical Bank - Black Americana:

A rare and unique find, this J.E. Stevens Black Americana Mechanical Bank was made during the late 19th century by by J. & E. Stevens Company, this Cast Iron Mechanical Bank depicts a Black man standing in a shack. First, a coin was laid on the legs and feet of the man or the roof of the house. Then the broom-lever moves on the side of the shack, causing the man to flip upwards and kick the coin into the slot on the top of the building. All original paint with three chips on the roof of the house. You might notice some dust on this piece, which is because we have left it \"as found\" at an estate sale for fear of damaging the paint or structure by fixing it. The bottom plug of the bank is missing. An identical bank was sold for $2,415 in 2002. The yellow siding of this shack makes it quite a bit more valuable, as the color is very rare.
