Rare 18thc Meissen F.j. Ferner Hausmaler Porcelain Saucer Porzellan Untertasse:
For sale is an early saucer made by Meissen around 1730-35 and then later over decorated by the famous shop of FJ Ferner in the 1740's. The set is handpainted with the underglaze blue Fels und Vogel Design by Meissen first and then the gilding and enamel colors were added by the Hausmaler of the shop of F.J. Ferner who was a Thuringian artist and is quite famous! He liked to do this with this particular design from Meissen. This is really a superb example of his work with a nice touch of a dog which I like a lot. There are also the typical orange, yellow and green flowers and fancy gilding. The saucer is in great condition with a bit of wear mostly to the one flower in the center and the gilding in the well. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 5 inches. The pieces are marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark underneath with a dot between the bottom (not the one from 1765! but the earlier version). Also an impressed number 53.
