This is a rare advertising item. The Piedmont brand is part of the American Tobacco Co. founded in the mid 1800's. In 1903 piedmont cigarettes were the largest selling cigarette in America. In 1902 Piedmont cigarettes introduced the first T206 Baseball cards which started the collecting of baseball cards. The rarest baseball card, the Honus Wagner card sold at sale for $2.8000,000. It was introduced in 1909 in Piedmont cigarettes. The chair was used in retail stores that sold Tobacco to advertise the Piedmont brand.
