Rare 1917 Wwi R&j Beck Trench Periscope Very Good Working Condition:
This rare piece of World War 1 history is a trench periscope, used for observing enemy movement from the safety of the trenches. It has the maker's name, R & J Beck Ltd., the date of 1917 and the serial number of 11064 marked clearly. It has lost its leather eyeshield but the optics are very good and it is a fun thing to use. There are a few very old and completely inert worm holes in the wooden handle - these could easily be filled and polished over. The metal could also be cleaned and/or polished although I think it looks really striking as it is, myself. It measures 59cm in overall length.
Paypal is the preferred form of payment and there is no charge for this service. Personal cheques, postal orders and bank drafts are acceptable but these may delay shipment while funds are cleared. All payments must be in UK Pounds.
All goods will be very carefully packed and sent by first class post or airmail unless otherwise stated. The quoted cost of delivery includes a small allowance for packing material. We are pleased to discount this P&P cost for multiple purchases wherever possible and, if our P&P estimate proves to have been too high, we will refund any excess payment after shipment. We are happy to ship to almost anywhere in the world - if your country isn't listed please request the P&P cost. Because of the expected final sales value of this item we have already included the cost of using Special Next Day delivery in the UK and International Signed For Postage elsewhere in our P&P estimates. If the final selling price is below £50 we can use standard postal services and refund the extra cost of this service unless the buyer would prefer to keep this option. The UK Post Office has recently stated that it will no longer accept International Signed For mail when it is addressed to a PO Box so we must ask you to provide a full address if you win this item. Please note that the buyer is responsible for any import duty or other such charges made on entry into their country.
We will refund the offer price including P&P charges if the item has a material defect not previously disclosed, or if it is significantly different from the description given. To obtain such a refund, the item must be returned within a reasonable time in its sold condition. We cannot refund the cost of returning the goods, but we sometimes make an adjustment to the purchase price of the next item bought in special cases. We ask buyers to leave response on receipt of the item so that we know it has arrived safely, then we leave our response for the buyer. If you have any problem at all with your item, please email us before leaving response and we will try our best to reach a satisfactory solution.
