Rare 1940's Tiki Restaurant Plate Riviera Club Haiti Port-au-prince - 6 Avail.:
Very rare 1940's / 1950's restaurant dinner plate from the Riviera Club at the Hotel d' Haiti in Port-au-Prince. It was made by the Jackson China Company in Falls Creek, Pennsylvania (as stamped on bottom), and measures 10 1/4" in diameter. It has the Riviera Club's iconic primitive mask (Tiki style) logo in a reddish-brown color, along with "Riviera" , "Hotel d' Haiti Port - au - Prince" , and "On the Caribbean's Riviera" ,all in the same reddish-brown color. The wide rim has coral pink leaves on a pink background, and the rest of the plate is white. It's not the usual heavy restaurant ware type of dinnerware, but lighter in weight & more like fine china. I have 6 of these same plates available - All in excellent condition - No chips, cracks, crazing, repairs, stains, or color loss or fade to the graphics - Nice & clean & fresh! ******* Please note: One of these plates I have available doesn't have the "Jackson China Falls Creek, PA." stamp on the bottom. Instead, it has the company's manufacturing test sample numbers & letters (214 - 19 H. O) on the bottom, in blue, hand-written lettering, under the glaze (see last photo). Please send me a message with your purchase if you want this particular plate. Otherwise I will send you the "Jackson China" stamped plate(s).
