Rare 19th C. Cobalt Decorated Cowden & Wilcox Stoneware Jug W/ Large Pheasant Nr:

&amp;lt;img border&nb Anexceptional 19th C.4 gallon stonewarejug with an enormous cobalt quail or dottedpheasant design. This piece was made byCowden & Wilcox inHarrisburg,PA circa 1865.The design is very thick & vibrant, perfectly executed. The maker's stamp is highlighted in cobalt& nicely impressed, perfectly legible. The wonderfullarge quail or dotted pheasant decoration is quite large, it takesup the entire front of the crock, the design alone measures 9 1/2" tall! This early stoneware piece measures 17" tall, 2 1/2" in diameter at the top & 10" in diameter at the bottom. This piece is in great condition with a few very small nicks & someimperfections in the making(kiln burn & stone pops). It has avery tight small hairline at the back of the handle, otherwise this piece is in near perfect condition.An exceptionallarge sized stonewarejug with an extremely rare & large cobalt design, offered with !
