This is in good condition other than a chipped corner on the rear of the base , and we have a photo.There is about a inch size piece that was broken off and glued back on . The Gorham Bronze Foundry cast this bronze and later cast smaller versions, keeping all rights to the design. Examples of these bronze busts are rare and can command very high prices. In the late 1980s, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts commissioned the Gorham Foundry to cast a series of Bissell Bronze Busts from the original mold, which they sold to the public. This sale is for one of these Museum of Fine Arts Gorham Bronze Bust of Honest Abe. Measuring 10” across at the shoulder by 16” tall his bronze sculpture is in original condition with only some light wear to the patina on the edges. ... Examples of this bronze bust were sold for a high price by the museum, but the example in the sale is listed without any reserve at all.
