Rare Abraham Lincoln Cabinet Card O-41:
$860

Abraham Lincoln Cabinet Card Quite rare Lincoln cabinet card image, listed in "Lincoln in Photographs" as O-41. This example was personally issued by Herbert Wells Fay, from the original negative, his label on the verso with his copyright. The example in the National Archives is also from the Fay collection. The label notes that this is probably the best "original" negative of the martyred President. The albumen is in excellent condition, the front mount has some wear at the bottom, and on the verso are some old imprints from a news agency - reseller. The piece is ca. 1870's. The only examples we have ever seen have come in this cabinet card format. The last example we know coming to market was in the May 1999 Railsplitter Lincoln and Civil War sale, lot #41, with that example realizing $900.00. This nice example is being offered with and a low opening offer.Buyer pays 5.75 domestic shipping. I do combine to save on shipping costs.
