Antique Cut Glass and Sterling Silver Claret Jug.
A beautiful Victorian solid silver mounted glass claret jug.
The stand out features of this piece are the silver mounts.
The handle and neck are designed to resemble bamboo canes.
With additional foliate embellishments to the finial and below the neck.
The front of the glass body engraved with an ornate set of initials.
Fully hallmarked forEdward H. Stockwell, Sheffield 1879.
A very unusual and attractive piece of Victorian Silver.
An example of this jug is on view at the V&A.
Good antique condition with just expected wear.
Surface wear throughout with some scratches to the glass.
Hallmarks are clear and legible.
