Rare Antique World GlobeKaspar Winter
Description:This Globe is completely in it\'s original state (varnish, stand, compass). It was made in 1840 in Vienna, Austria by Kaspar Winter.It\'s full circle meridian ring is made of brass, the horizontal ring as well as the stand with its three legs are made of wood.The globe itself is in good condition, pivoting is working. On the north pole there is a rotating \"hour hand\"A compass is incorporated to the base of the stand. The needle is currently immobile due to the warp of the paper dial inside the compass.The compass casing is made of brass.
The map lithograph consists of 12 paper segments, partly colored. There is also paper lithography on the horizontal ring, depicting signs of zodiac, months and 32 cardinal directions.

The globe is in very good condition, showingsome traces of age, such as darkened varnish, four fissures in the lithographs on the horizontal ring (the worst is shown in the image), stain on the glass of the compass (see image), and the bulged compass dial.
