Wonderful Collectible COMPOSITION & Cloth DOLL from Pre WW 2, estimated date 1926-1935, most likely sold on cruise ships for children. German made, signed VH on back of neck. Doll has been stored and cared for as composition has no major chips or discolorations, original straight pins still hold sailor sash down on back of doll so it hasn\'t rolled up over the years Measures approx. 12\" tall. (I didn\'t try to pull out sash for fear pins may have rusted or may tear material-you can tell my tops of pin heads they are old). No sash on hat, but hat has discolored from the bright white with age. NO HOLES OR TEARS! Stitching in fingers and toes still intact and mint condition. You can tell this DOLL truly meant something to someone by the way it has been kept. We purchased at Estate sale from NY from childless couple, so my guess it belonged to one of the estate owners who had passed over 20 years ago. Please request more photos if you would like. His face makes me think of a Creepy/Horror Doll Face that you would see in a movie or Freak Show personally....but then, who knows what made them laugh in 1920/30\'s!
