This is a great antiquemercantilescale!
It is a Toledo Scale used to measure the weight per bushel Avoirdupois. Made by Toledo Scale Company it is a model 4605.
The scale has some rust and pitting on the surface. But it has very nice patina. The scale is functional but I do not know if it is accurate or correct. It comes with a detachable tray that you can pour out.Probably used in an elevator or large farm operation
These scales are rare and hard to find.
I do not know how it exactly works but I believe you place a certain volume of grain in the tray and it then calculates the number of bushels per lb. It is not a candy or nail scale but has a great vintage merchant look. It would be a great piece of decor in any primitive collection or in any retail or hardware store. It would also be a great decoration for any ag office setting. It would also be a great addition to any collection of scales.
