Rare antique sweepstakes medal from the Weekly Telegraph Newspaper (Sheffield England).

One side reads \"Keep This It May Be Worth £100\". The other side reads \"See The Weekly Telegraph To Day\" with the number64890 in the center.

An advertisement in the February 9, 1905 Weekly Telegraph claimed that thousands of these medals were distributed throughout the country, each with a different number.Numbers wereselected,with 10 numbers each weekfor£1, while one medal number (held in the Editors safe for the duration of the event) was worth £100.

The medal is in fair condition - it shows wear and discoloration.

It measures just under 1\" in diameter.

Note: this medal is being sold as a collectible and isnot redeemable (as the sweepstakes was 110 years ago).
