Art Deco Geometric Jazz Age Reverse Painted Cocktail Tray - Dated 1926 For SaleHere is a stunning Art Deco 1920's geometric Hollywood's "Jazz Age" cocktail tray from SanFrancisco Estate. It is marked "Patented August 3, 1926" on the bottom, and it is very cool. This wonderful tray is made of wood painted black and gold with a reverse painted geometric design on glass which is thetop of the tray. The tray has handles on each side, and black paper on the bottom. The overall measurement of the trayis 18" long and 12" wide. It is 1-3/4" deep including the handle (1" without). The color of the reverse painted glass is gold with a black shaded geometricpattern. There is a label on the back of the tray which reads "PATENTED, August 3, 1926" (see picture). The condition of the tray is amazingly very good - shows wear, torn paper on back, and some spotting on the backside of the glass (see picture). We don't know why there is spotting - it's possibly from moisture, and maybe it can becleaned or touched up. We don't know for sure.It doesn't look likethe black paper in the back has been taken off completely ... even though some of the paper is missing (see picture). The estimated value of a similar traywas$195.00 according to the "Vintage Bar Ware Value Guide" by Stephen Visakay, dated 2000, on Page #179. Our reserve is only $49.00.
