Pottery, located in Flemington, New Jersey from 1910 to 1929, created some of the most memorable ceramic
lamps that were illuminated by electricity. Their figural
boudoir lamp depicting a pantalooned and masked
Harlequin is prized by Fulper collectors today. It is the
translucency of the ceramic, lit from within, along with the colorful
and almost kitschy look of the figure, that makes this lamp so precious – who
can resist an illuminated and glowing skirt and pantaloons? The Harlequin lady boudoir lamp was originally calledThe
Mask Boudoir Lamp No. 331and
it was marketed in the 1920s.
