For your consideration one of the “Holy Grail” of vintagecocktail shakers, a nice original antiqueversionof theiconic Zeppelin traveling bar set. It consists of 11pieces(including the threaded cap of the flask). Most components are clearly stamped “GERMANY”. The strainer/juicer cap is stamped “DRGM 894384 MADE IN GERMANY”. The DRGM stands for: Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster. When translated means: Registered Design of the German Reich.

These were produced between the years of 1928 into the early 1930s - and the machine age streamlined modernist industrial form was in honor of German Count Ferdinand Von Zeppelins’ fantastic flying machines - which were dirigibles and commonly known as “Zeppelins”.

Zeppelins were the latest rave in luxury passenger transportation among the jet-set of the art deco era. The tower atop the Chrysler building is actually a mooring mast for a Zeppelin to dock to. In 1929 a Zeppelin was the first airship to circumnavigate the globe - 21,500 miles in 21 days. Tragically, the Zeppelins met their demise when the airship LZ 129 “Hindenburg” went down in a fiery inferno May 6, 1937 in New Jersey, killing 35 of the 97 people aboard.

Bar components contained within the Zeppelin sleek modernist machine age design form as follows:4 small cupsof graduated size so as to neatly nest together; with a strainer topped smallest cup to fit over the cap opening in the inner flask compartment, a strainer top that has a juicer surface on the back for working with citris fruits, a flask decanter with a top, and the lower winged base which holds the graduated cups and strainer. The nose cone, and winged base of this Zeppelin shaker have some very shallow denting as the metal is quite thin along these confines. Very minor and hard to spot but if you look very closely some slight denting is visible.Exterior finish of Zeppelin form has the typical light scratches from use.

- 100% guaranteed vintage and the original art deco era artifact -
I am quite certain that there was either a corkscrew or an olive pick housed in the long bottom cargo strip area that is no longer present.
Measures 13\" high weighing 2lbs. 2 good near fine vintage condition - not perfect but acceptable - with some light wear throughout. I believe there was an olive spear or corkscrew that was housed in the bottom removable cargo bay. That is missing currently. Many of the components are monogrammed as seen including the outer Zeppelin form. Please see images and embedded text for your best condition report.
