Antique Leaded Hanging Globe
Being offered is a rare antique leaded hanging globe. Each piece of slag glass in colors of burgundy, purple, greens, teal and opalescent white is curved forming a wonderful globe, (in person it looks more purple then burgundy). It has great heavy cast bronze hardware with four fat boy sockets with a deep dark brown patina. I could find no signature, Handel? but it is definitely antique American as it has old GE sockets that date from 1903-1909 and was original to an old Victorian home in New Jersey where it was removed from the hallway. It has been newly rewired with a period style cord and plug or it may be hardwired to a ceiling canopy if desired.The globe is 12 1/2\" tall without the hardware,the top cap is 7\" in diameter and the chain links are 3 1/4\" each in length, just a great size for a hall or entrance way.Condition is very good, three of the diamond shaped pieces of glass have cracks (no missing pieces).
