Antique Bohemian Tall Opaline Glass Cylinder Vase'Golden Cherub' & Enamel Detail /Signed by German Artist: Josef Ahne This gorgeous, antique Opaline Glass Cylinder Vase, signed by renowned glass painter Josef Ahne, is absolutely beautiful. It is also in excellent condition withno nicks, no chips and no cracks (not even hairline); the hand painted detail & decoration is stunning. This piece stands nearly 13" tall and is made entirely of opaque, white glass. It is 'cylinder shaped' and its base has a small 'lip.'The piece is highly detailed, featuring the image of a contemplating blue-winged cherub (or putti), resting upon a cloud. Its opposing side is decorated with a detailed gold scrolled design. The lower area of the piece is encircled with a wide band of gold 'crackled' detail the entire piece is decorated with small white & red enamel detail. Nearthe bottom right hand of the central decoration, artist Josef Ahne has signed his name. Josef Ahne was a famous German artist renowned for his painting on glass. I've located several pieces created around 1894 (or generally, during the late 1800s). This is a absolutely rare piece of Opaline glass and a perfect example of Ahne's hand painted work.Please feel free to contact me with any/all questions (or requests for additional photos).
