This is a fantastic French clock set by C.H. Hour (circa 1885). It is quite rare in the sense that this maker mostly made small carriage clocks. Bonhams sale house recently sold one of thesesmall clocks for almost $1,700. Here is the link did not make many like this and you would be hard pressed to find one. Not only rare but 100% original right down to the feet matching on both the clock and the 2 garnitures. It has 3 beautiful marble columns on each side. All of the gilt metalwork is intact and present. It has a 8 day striking on the half hour movement. Marked C.H. Hour which is his early mark. It also has a wonderful and quite unique flower basket pendulum. This clock does run and keep good time but is extremely dirty and could use a good cleaning. May need adjusting after shipping as most old clocks do. it is 17\" tall and about 11 \" wide not including the garnitures. There are 2 small chips on garniture corners, Really not noticeable and certainly does not take away. It comes with a key that winds both sides although I do not think original.
