Rare Nickel silver thimble made by Victorian thimble maker Charles Edward Iles of Birmingham. Plain knurled top over gilded metal applied floral border and ornate rim. The thimble is stamped with the "three thimbles" trademark registered by Charles Iles in 1876 (see Norma Spicer: Charles Iles - A Family of Thimble Makers, p.16). In excellent undamaged condition. Height approx. 2.6 cm; internal base diameter approx. 1.6 cm; weight 5.6 grams.
