PrivateDrum is described as being53 years old, a native ofIredell County, North Carolinaand a farmer by occupation. The document is signedby Lt. A. M. Black,of Company A.The document is signed on the back by Private Drum. This regiment was captured at Fort Donelson just two weeks later, so Private Drum's discharge was well timed for him.
