AUTHENTIC Super rare Model #132 chair designed in 1948 by Donald Knorr for Knoll Associates. This Great modernist design consists of Sheet metal seat shell and bent rod steel legs. Only Produced from 1950-52.
Donald Knorr was co-awarded first prize at the Competition for Low Cost Furniture held at the MOMA New York in 1950. Described as \"light, flexible, and elegant,\" it features a curved seat cut from sheet metal and designed to conform to the human body.
This example includes a new knoll boucle cover that has hand stitched sides and was reproduced to exact specifications from the original cover. The cover has soft foam and some light soiling. The shell has been expertly restored. The white paint coating on the shell is in good condition with a couple of wear paint loss spots to the rim of the chair. Slight bump ups to the seat where the leg frame has pushed through. Original hardware.
This is a super rare example and will be a great addition to your collection.
