For anyone who collects boudoir ladies and Lenci boudoirs in particular, here is a rare Lenci Pierrot who can play the suitor to any lady, no matter what the era or scenario. He is an incredibly hard-to-find male boudoir doll that is much sought after and who adds drama to any collection!
This 1920\'s lovelorn Pierrot is 21 inches tall to the top of his skull cap, has a molded felt face and hard-stuffed cloth torso with limbs jointed at the elbows and knees which make him easily posable into many life-like positions. He has mitten-like hands, a movable head, and a beautifully painted sad face featuring dot eyebrows, heavy lids, pale blue eyes and a morosely pouty mouth, all delicately outlined to highlight his expression.
His sorrowful gaze and elongated torso and limbs make for a dramatic character who commands attention from every angle.
He is dressed in a beige felt two-piece clown suit with a large black felt ruffled collar and big round black felt covered buttons on the jacket front and accenting the sleeves and pants cuffs. He wears black felt boots which are not removable and a black felt skull cap from which a long decoraive felt peacock feather dangles.
He carries his original wooden mandolin which is decorated with the image of a flaming red heart struck through with an arrow and dripping blood (!) from the \"broken heart\"!
Condition: Doll is in excellent condition with only light overall shelf dust to his face and a fewsmall spots on his clothing. I can see no moth holes on the doll or outfit other than the soles of the black sewn-on felt boots. There is only one small nick to his nose and some small light stains on his left cheek.
This doll would be a perfect addition to any cloth doll collection, but it would be especially wonderful for a Lenci doll collector to partner with a beautiful Lenci boudoir doll. See my photo below showing Pierrot pining for his lady-love!
