Autograph seekers here's a rare piece of American history; President Harry S. Truman's signature as a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason AND Past Grand Master of Masons in Missouri. Scottish Rite Masons traditionally collect the signatures of 33rd Degree (an honorary degree rarely conveyed) Masons on their membership pattens. This membership patten belonged to a Scottish Rite Mason who had the President sign for him in 1971, just one year before Truman's death. Items included for offer are the signed membership patten, an original carbon copy of the members letter to the President requesting the signature, and the leather pouch the patten is stored in. The member's letter is obviously its stated age and the member's signature on the letter matches his signature on the membership patten. Items were obtained directly from the member's family, and member's widow has verified how the member obtained the President's Masonic signature.
