Rare Marguerite Kirmse Irish Setter Etching Very Limited Edition For Sale
Rare Marguerite Kirmse Irish Setter Etching that was issued in a much smaller number than her normal editions. I spoke with a dog expert and she feels that this was a private etching and was only released in a very limited edition. The dog is called Beau of Haus Faring or something similar. My friend thought this was probably an etching of Marguerite Kirmses' dog or perhaps even a close friend. It isn't numbered but is hand signed. My friend said that this was very rare. She has a list of nearly every Marguerite Kirmse etching and she had never even heard of this one. The etching size is 5 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches. Some very light foxing, and in a comtemporary frame. Also, I think this looks like a Golden Retriever, but my friend says this is how Irish Setters looked in the past. The head and body shape are similar to an English Setter.
