Very rare English Civil War era example of the so called Mortuary sword widely used by English horsemen during the mid to late 1600s. Wearing a straight single edged unfullered blade which exhibits heavy patina throughout with areas of fine pitting, one side with mostly worn struck numbers, possibly a date, edge showing slight wear due to extensive service.
