Rare Miniature Sterling Silver Teapot 1860-1880:
Rare Antique 19th C. Miniature Teapot: Up for sale is a wonderful small teapot from the mid to late 19th century. Probably Continental in origin, Italy, or Holland, it has charmingly embossed silver country figures and angels among the scroll work. The handle is ebony wood and is constructed in two pieces held by silver rosettes to account for the bowed angle. It is marked 800 silver which is typical of continental silver of that period. It measures 3 inches to the top of the spout and 6.5 inches across. The photo of the bottom of the teapot is a good example of the silver work. Happy Holidays from Smith House Gallery!
