Rare New Yorker Magazine Jd Salinger A Perfect Day For Bananafish First Printing:
RARE New Yorker Magazine with the highly sought after JD Salinger story...A Perfect Day for Bananafish January 31, 1948 Amazingly detailed cover of sledding at the mansion signed CEM. This Salinger New Yorker and this great cover are highly collectible. I have significantly discounted this issue because of the flaws described below even though I think it is still in great shape considering it’s from 1948. What makes this issue even more rare and special is that it is an UNCIRCULATED FIRST EDITION (never mailed, labeled or folded) obtained decades ago from the archives at Conde’ Nast Publishing. No smoke, pet or moldy odors. Front, back and interior pages have typical age flaws like yellowing, rippling, small tears and water marks. This issue was exposed to moisture and/or water at some point but it is still in very good shape overall. See all photos and close ups as they serve as details of the condition. The magazine is complete - every single page of this issue has been checked. The front cover and back cover are still attached but not completely so understand that it could separate more so for the purpose of this sale and the price consider it unattached. I took photos with and without flash to give you the best visibility. Please Note: This will be carefully wrapped and will be shipped insured via USPS priority. Great gift or treasure for the J D Salinger or New Yorker cover collector. Thank you.
