DESCRIPTION: Cast; Square Based Shell

HALLMARKS: Dublin circa 1745 by Jonathan Pasley

MEASUREMENTS: 19.1cm (7.5”) high;11.9cm x 11.9cm (4.7” x 4.7”) base; 1028 grams (33 tr.oz.).

We are pleased to offer a rarepair of Georgian silver candlesticks made in Ireland.

Theseare a scarce and fine quality pair of mid-18th century Irish candlesticks. Theyare cast in typical fashion with a good-sized square base and decorated withshell corners. They have a good heavy weight and are in fine conditionthroughout.

The hallmarks are located tothe centre of three sides - at this period date letters were rarely used onIrish silverware, but the shape and form of the punches are individual and theengrailed top to the Hibernia marks on these sticks dates them to the 1740\'s.
