Up for sale, a rare, divided back, postcard (CartePostale) of “Campagne de 1914-1916—Campement d’Infanterie.” c.1916, viewof the French infantry camp during World War One. Postcard measures about 3 ½ x 5 ½ (seescans). Published in Paris #14. Magnification reveals a soldier standing guardwith rows of tents for the men. And flying above is a reconnaissance airplane(appears to be a Farman III biplane—an early French aircraft designed and builtby Henry Farman). Very good to excellent used condition. Corners are pointed tovery slightly rounded. No tears or creases or corner bends (with usual foxing,fading, and spots from age).
