Rare Red Coty Festival Of Britain 1951 Compact Azalee Powder 1951 1950s:
Festival of Britain souvenir compact from 1951 with a red and gold design under a piece of clear plastic showing the Abram Games festival logo and a fan of feathers. In very good condition, although missing part of its catch but still snaps shut tightly and stays closed. The part missing is the piece you press in to open it, so to open you have to pull the lid up. It really doesn't detract from the piece. Some light wear and tear to the brassy metal. Also has two little bumps under the red cover to the right of the logo.Mirror very good, just a couple of spots. Still has a full pan of powder along with its tissue paper cover, a very lightly used Coty puff, and a used black felt pouch. The base has 'Coty' impressed on it and a sticker for 'Azalee' the shade of powder inside. In the very unusual red colour, you usually see these in blue although less have been around in recent years. Personally, I have never seen another red one but I assume they're out there!Measures 6.5 cm across and is approx 1 cm deep. From a non-smoking, pet-free home.Any questions, please ask.
