Rare Satchel Purse Georgian English Sterling Silver Vinaigrette Antique For Sale
A novelty Georgian silver vinaigrette in the shape of a purse/satchel made by William Lea & Co and hallmarked in Birmingham 1816.It is in very good condition, is clearly hallmarked to both sides of the hinged case and retains its original gilding to the grille and case interior. The hinges on both the case and grille work well and both close firmly. There has been a small repair to the hinge of the grille but is hardly noticeable even when fully extended and of course is fully covered when the vinaigrette is closed. Apart fom that very small repair the piece is in very good condition.Width 3cms Depth 2cms Weight 0.375oz (11gms)Postage by insured special delivery is free in the UK.
