Rare & Beautiful Thinking Pose Sixth Plate Daguerreotype. Her Head is Tilted Thoughtfully to the Side and Down, Her Finger to the Back of Her Head, Her Gaze Pained. A Note Included w/ the Image Reads, "Elizabeth Gorden [sp.] of East Hartford died of a broken heart because her lover was an infidel." A Beautiful Image w/ An Equally Deep Sentiment.Image is Housed in a Nice Full Cordovan Leatherette Case w/ Foral Motif, Original Spine and Ruby Red Velvet Pad.
Condition:Image has been resealed w/ new glass and Filmoplast P90. There are a few fine abrasions right at the matte's edge, moderately heavy buff strokes, and a couple minor spots, otherwise quite nice and beautifully lit. Image is housed in a decent full cordovan leatherette case with floral motif, original spine and ruby red velvet pad with single flower impression.I try my best to describe condition issues, but please rely on the scan below for a complete condition report, as it's large [oversized], and accurate.
