This sale is for my second - slightly smaller but still rare & extremely well executed Black Forest Bear Inkwell with glass insert. Hinged head. Black Bead eyes. Carved teeth & tongue. Both paws are upturned for holding a quill or pen. Great expression on his face. Carved from 1 piece of wood that has been hollowed out. The glass inkpot is plain - possibly not the original - but it sits fine in the carved well. This has not been cleaned or stained or re-finished. Not many of these around - I have another slightly larger one for sale & a Cat Head Inkwell
Max Measurements: 4.5" tall x 4" deep x 3.25" wide.
Condition: Slight patina wear to both ears. Old ink splashes inside & outside - commensurate with age & use!See photos as they form part of the descrition. More Black Forest items being listed.
