Rare Vint 2 Charles Jourdan Cable Wire Cuff Bracelets Stainless Steel + Vermeil For Sale
RARE Classic Collectible Charles Jourdan Cable Wire Cuff Bracelets !!!
I bought these bracelets in the summer of 1999 in St-Jean-De-Luz, France. They were purchased at a fine gifts shop in town while I was visiting my then-boyfriend at his father's hotel in the South of France. The town is right on the Western Coast of France near Hemingway's famous San Sebastian, Spain. St-Jean-De-Luz, France has a very preppy-nautical feel and is patronized by wealthy Europeans who don't want to vacation in Niece or other cliché spots overrun by tourists.
I wore them several times when I was younger and got tons of compliments. These are a well-done style nod to nautical and industrial aesthetics, while making them look like haute-couture fine jewelry. These are classic and avant-garde at the same time! As you can see the gold parts are Vermeil, which is sterling silver plated in gold (normally 18K gold). There are some areas where the gold has begun to fade/rub off, however any good jeweler can re-plate these at reasonable cost, and they will look like new.
Charles Jourdan has become more well-known for shoes in the decade+ since I bought these, so his earlier jewelry pieces are very rare and hard-to-find. I don't believe these were sold anywhere but Europe (maybe just France) so they may be more rare than I thought. I did pay a few hundred for them at the time of purchase in 1999 so they were considered top-of-the line for designer pieces considering the value was not intrinsic.
I have seen this style of bracelet made in St. Croix USVI, and Vail, CO. It seems to be a popular style in luxury boutiques at very posh locations. I held onto these for so long because they are great pieces of jewelry, but they are memories from another man and my husband would prefer I part with them, which I completely understand.
These are a substantial weight to make a good feel on your arm. Measured on a scientific scale in my husband's lab, these weighed ------ gms.
Questions?--Remember, You are responsible to READ LISTING IN FULL before placing any offer. Please read listing in full before asking a question. Often it is answered in the item listing. Since you must read the listing to place your offer, you will save time to read it before asking any questions since the info is likely already posted. If you still have a question after reading the sale in full, use the "ask seller a question" feature and please don't block your email address (blocking it makes an incredible chore of responding). It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to find out all you need to know if you have questions about anything I haven't covered BEFORE the end of the sale.
response--It has become a custom on , that the buyer initiate response and then for the seller to respond. This is helpful for two reasons, one, it allows the seller to know the item was received and they buyer is satisfied, and two, it allows the buyer to contact the seller to discuss anything prior to the termination of the sale as indicated with response being left. Therefore my policy on response is that the buyer leaves response for me and I return the response as soon as I can upon receipt of it. (When I am a buyer I take my turn to give my sellers their response first.) I always try my best to reciprocate the response that is left for me.
IMPORTANT: Due to abuse of the system from past buyers, anyone who offers and does not pay will be issued a non-paying buyer warning regardless of your reason for not paying. Why is this? In the past I have been trusting and kind to issue a cancel sale agreement for a buyer who made a mistake. Unfortunately allows a buyer to still leave me negative response even if I kindly comply with your request after your purchase error. This exact scenario caused me to get a negative for doing nothing but what the crazy buyer asked me to do, therefore, I will no longer give cancel sale agreements. Make sure you read listing in full and ask all questions, and that the money is in your account to pay before buying in order to avoid any issues.
