Printed andpainted with an Imari design, comprising a teapot and cover, sugar bowl with saucer, fivecups with saucers and a tray, printed marks

Circa1883

EJD Bodley wasestablished at the Hill Pottery in Burslem, Staffordshire in 1875 havingpreviously been Bodley and Sons.   This pattern is in the style of JapaneseImari pieces which had been popularised by the Derby factory in the 19thcentury, but such patterns did not have specific names at this time.   Theregistration mark shows that the design was registered in 1883.

After inspecting the item again, I did notice a repair on one of the saucers. You cannot notice it at all until you turn it over.
