Rare Vintage Fenton Cranberry Opalescent Coin Dot Hanging Swag Lamp For SaleNOTE: I am currently listing numerous items, so please check my other listings!
You are offerding on a large rare vintage Fenton cranberry opalescent coin dot hanging swag lamp. These lamps are rare and believed to have only been distributed in the Western US around maybe 1959-1961. The shape of the glass is what makes them rare (most of this era were tear-drop in shape, not cylindrical like these). I collected Fenton lamps once upon a time and have three all in different colors that I am selling (please see my other listings). The lamp is about 22" from the bottom tip to the top hook (not including the chain and ceiling mount) and the glass cylinder itself is about 12 3/4" long and about 7" at its widest point. The chain on this one is short (only three links) and has to be wired into the ceiling (this could easily be changed though and a plug along with a longer chain added). There are metal pieces mounted to the top and bottom, each with three side screws. The side screws on the top all turn fine and readily, but only two do on the bottom piece. This third screw has to be turned with a pair of pliers (this should be able to be fixed easily with a little work though). The metal on each piece shows tarnish from age, but could probably be easily cleaned up nicely. Note: I do not recommend using any vintage lamp with the existing wiring. I strongly recommend rewiring any vintage lamp before using. I do not know the quality of the wiring and would not use them in my own home without rewiring first. There are no chips or cracks in the glass! What a great rarity to add to your Fenton collection!
