Rare Vintage Hatch Cutlery Regular Jack Knife Bone Handles Battle Axe Shield:
I will be selling off a large part of my vintage American Pocket Knife collection of the next several weeks so check back often. Hatch was a knife making firm in Bridgeport Connecticut that operated between 1885-1899. They stopped using the Bridgeport stamping in 1897. That puts this knife between 115-128 years old. It is a very unique and rare highly collectible green bone handle Regular Jack with the very rare and sought after Battle Axe shield. This beauty measure 3 3/8" closed. It has fancy grooved nickel bolsters and a nickel shield. Brass pins and liners. The main blade is a spear point with a long pull that has been sharpened down the smaller is a pen blade. The spear point is stamped HATCH B'PORT CT. The small blade is stamped THE HATCH CUTLERY CO. BRIDGEPORT, CT. Strong Springs with both blades opening to half stop firmly and snapping hard when opened and closed. Tight no wobble. The blades show signs of use and have light scratches. They both have light patina showing off it's age. You will feel the quality of the workmanship when you hold this one in your hand. It is a sturdy knife and one that very seldom pops up on or anywhere online. This knife was undoubtedly handed down through the generations because of it's incredible condition. It is now a collectors item that will hopefully be preserved for future generations to admire. This sale will have a reasonable reserve set. Please message me with any questions before offerding. Have fun and good luck offerding!!!
