Rare Vintage pair of bookends K & O Co 1920\'s \"The Gleaners\":

This is a pair of polychrome painted metal bookends from the 1920\'s depicting the famous painting work by Jean Francois Millet called \"the gleaners\". The bookends were made by Kronheim & Oldenbusch Company, which is shown in picture three on the backside of the bookend. These bookends depict three peasant women gleaning a field of stray grains of wheat after the harvest. Both bookends are signed in the bottom right hand corner \"Pickarski\". Picture number one shows the front, picture number two is a sideview, picture number three is the back side, picture number four shows the bottom, which most of the Green felt is still remaining and picture number five shows signed by \"Pickarski\". Measuring back from top to bottom they are 5 1/8 inch high, measuring from Sideview back to front they are 2 3/4\" , measuring back from side to side they are 5 3/8 \"wide. Each weighs approximately 4 lbs. apiece. These are in very good condition considering their age they do have some flaws chipped paint on the front and back as shown in the photos, and part of the felt missing on the bottom of both as shown in the photos.
